Globelics is pleased to announce a set of updates to its Constitution, aimed at strengthening the network’s governance, improving institutional continuity, and supporting a more effective organization of its activities in the coming years. The revised Constitution reflects the collective effort of the Globelics community to ensure that the network remains democratic, inclusive, transparent, and globally representative. The changes clarify key roles and responsibilities within the organization, while preserving the collaborative spirit that has guided Globelics since its creation.
One of the main changes concerns the role of the Globelics Secretariat. The updated Constitution recognizes the Secretariat not only as an administrative body, but also as a key space for strategic implementation. Working in close coordination with the Presidency Team and the Globelics Scientific Board, the Secretariat will support the translation of agreed priorities into concrete actions, operational plans, communication processes, and implementation mechanisms. Strategic decision-making authority remains with the Globelics Scientific Board and the Presidency Team. The Constitution also introduces the category of Globelics Fellows, designed to recognize individuals who have made outstanding and lasting contributions to the network. Fellows will support the community in an advisory capacity, helping preserve institutional memory and strengthen intergenerational dialogue.
Additional changes include adjustments to the duration of terms for key governance bodies, with the aim of improving continuity and allowing better alignment with the organization of major Globelics activities, including conferences and academies. The revised Constitution also updates provisions related to Regionalics and CountryLics, recognizing their importance in connecting the global agenda of Globelics with regional and national communities. Together, these changes provide a stronger framework for the next phase of Globelics. They will help the network improve coordination, support regional and global activities, strengthen participation, and continue promoting research, capacity building, and policy dialogue on innovation, learning, competence building, and development.
