Globelics brings its global community together through a rich agenda of activities that foster research collaboration, capacity building, policy dialogue, and exchange between the Global South and the Global North. Through conferences, academies, seminars, webinars, lectures, and special initiatives, the network creates spaces where scholars, students, policymakers, and practitioners can discuss how innovation, learning, and competence building contribute to development.

At the heart of Globelics activities are the International Conferences and PhD Academies, which rotate across different regions of the world to strengthen global participation and ensure that diverse development contexts are represented. These activities provide key opportunities for presenting research, building academic networks, supporting early-career scholars, and connecting innovation studies with real-world policy challenges.

Beyond its core conferences and academies, Globelics also promotes special activities and online events that keep the community connected throughout the year. Initiatives such as the Globelics@20 series and the Professor Richard Nelson Special Lectures have offered spaces for reflection, learning, and global dialogue on innovation systems, development, and the evolution of the field. Together, these activities make Globelics a living network: a place for exchanging ideas, building capabilities, nurturing collaboration, and advancing a shared agenda on innovation and development.

Globelics also promotes the development of thematic reports as a way to synthesize knowledge, identify emerging research agendas, and connect academic debates with policy-relevant discussions. These reports bring together insights from members of the network, regional communities, working groups, conferences, academies, and special initiatives, offering accessible and structured reflections on key issues such as innovation systems, digital transformation, sustainability, inclusion, technological capabilities, and development. By producing thematic reports, Globelics strengthens its role as a platform for collective knowledge creation and dissemination, helping to translate research findings into useful inputs for scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and partner institutions.
