LALICS

LALICS, the Latin American Network for Economics of Learning, Innovation, and Competence Building Systems, is the regional chapter of Globelics for Latin America and the Caribbean. It brings together researchers, students, policymakers, and institutions interested in innovation, learning, structural change, science and technology policy, and development from a Latin American and Caribbean perspective. LALICS has played a central role in strengthening the regional community of innovation studies and in connecting Latin American debates with the broader Globelics agenda.

The network promotes academic exchange, doctoral training, policy dialogue, and regional collaboration through conferences, academies, seminars, publications, and working groups. Its activities reflect the diversity of Latin American and Caribbean development challenges, including productive transformation, inequality, technological capabilities, sustainability, digitalization, and inclusive innovation. LALICS is organized through a regional coordination structure and a Scientific Committee that supports the network’s academic agenda, institutional development, and community-building efforts. As part of Globelics, LALICS contributes to strengthening South–South and North–South dialogue while giving visibility to the region’s intellectual traditions and policy experiences.
